Obituary of Jessie Kerr Chisholm

Jessie Chisholm of Riverview and formerly of Lower Coverdale passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 22nd, 2008. Born in Stellarton, Nova Scotia on March 21st, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Mary (Kerr) Dunbar. She was a member of the Lower Coverdale United Church. Jessie was a Past Matron of Fidelity Chapter #36, O.E.S. (Riverview); she was very faithful to attend the meeting and reached her 50 year membership in December 2006; also a member of Pearl Rebekah #9 (Moncton) and Daughters of the Nile (Saint John). She is survived by her daughter Donna and son in law Phil Doutre of Ontario; son Brian and daughter in law Sheila of Turtle Creek; grandchildren Troy Chisholm (Jessica) of Saint John, Tammy Stevenson (Corey) of Riverview, and Matthew Chisholm of Moncton; great grandson Logan Chisholm; sister Dorothy Cruickshank of Halifax, NS. She was predeceased by her husband Donald in 1990; brothers John, Arthur, William and George; and by sister Margaret. No visitation by personal request. The funeral service will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home on December 24th, 2008 at 11:00am with Rev. Charlotte Youland officiating. Order of the Eastern Star will hold a memorial service before the funeral at 10:30am. Interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring. Donations in memory of Jessie made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
