Obituary of Wayne O'Brien

Wayne O’Brien (76 yrs.), of Moncton passed away peacefully at the Albert House Hospice on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

Born in Moncton, Wayne was the son of the late Roy Levi O’Brien and Marjorie Ada (Abel). Wayne was a truck driver having retired from Blue Wave Energy followed by years of driving taxi and courier.  Wayne enjoyed many years playing and coaching softball, hockey and golf. During these years he made many friends.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 53 years, Norma Jean (McLean) O’Brien; sons, Scott O’Brien (Nathalie) of Shediac Cape, and Adam O’Brien (Gisele Gautreau) of Riverview; grandchildren, Thomas and Kylie; also, by several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his sisters, Lois Barry, and Debbie Hebert; brothers, Ronald and Billy who died infancy.

The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to all of Wayne’s friends who visited during the years of his illness, you all meant so much to Wayne, he treasured everyone of you.

In keeping with Wayne’s wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral service.

Donations in Wayne’s memory made to the Albert House Hospice (hospicesenb.ca/get-involved/donate/) would be greatly appreciated. The care the staff at the Albert House provided during Wayne’s last days was truly astounding; our family will be forever grateful.ooHo
