Mary Curry

Obituary of Mary Theresa Curry

It is with deep sadness that we advise of the passing of Mary Curry (née Teed) of Moncton, N.B. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert “Bob” Curry; children Kathren (Derek), Thomas (Tracy), and James; daughter-in-law Tricia Curry; grandchildren Alexander (Myra), Nicholas, Jarred, Sydney (Donovan), Tyler, and Samuel; and she was “super-nanny” to the beautiful Ava. She is also survived by her sister Jean McIntyre (Jim) and her two brothers, Ronnie Teed (Rita) and Paul Teed.

She is predeceased by her parents (Albert Teed and Rachel Berry) and her siblings Carmel, Willis, Majorie, Reginald, Sandra, Sheila, Gary, Joan, Bernice, and Bernard.

In her early years, Bob and Mary travelled the world with their young and growing family, including places such as Italy, Belgium, and many military postings throughout Canada. All the while, she continued to be the most loving and dedicated wife and mother one could ask for. In her later years, she enjoyed her time being a nanny to all her six grandchildren, and most recently a “Super-Nanny” to her only great-granddaughter. She was always loving, compassionate, and kind to all; she made each soul she touched feel that they were special. She was always there to support in her family’s daily lives with whatever they needed, including taking care of her grandchildren or baking the best cakes and cookies. She also loved her time playing bingo; she looked forward to it every week, until the end. Mary had a deep appreciation for the simple wonders of nature; she keenly observed the daily lives of the chipmunks and blue jays which frequented her yard, and she celebrated the arrival of new flowers and colours with the passing seasons.

There will be a celebration of Mary’s life, which will take place at a time and location to be determined.

Thank you Mary, Mom, Nanny, and “Super Nanny”; your gentleness, spirit of kindness, and love will live on until we one day are reunited.
