Obituary of Bryan Harris

Bryan 'B-Y'; Harris of Riverview passed peacefully at his residence on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the age of 46.

Bryan was born in Moncton, NB. He is survived by his son, Finley Donald Harris of Rothesay; mother, Sharon Richard-Harris of Riverview; father, Mike Harris (previously Gay) (Jackie) of Moncton; brother, Kevin Harris (Chantel) of Riverview; step-sisters, Chrissy Hendrix-Dorval (Mathieu) of Stilesville, Angela Hendrix of Riverview; step-brother, Chris Jeffrey (Emma) of Halifax; the mother of his son, Katherine DeLorey of Rothesay; nephews, Greyson, Rowan, and Alexander; nieces, Madison and Autumn; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Bryan's early childhood was spent on long bike rides around the streets of Hildegard with his friends, running the beaches of Caissie Cape with family, or in the woods with his grandfather — developing a deep passion for the outdoors that he carried with him his whole life. Bryan graduated from Harrison Trimble High School in 1997, then went on to complete his College Diploma in Graphic Arts and Database Design at CCNB Dieppe in 1999 — skills that would turn into a lifelong hobby.

Shortly after college, he began a career in 911 dispatch at the Medic Centre that would span nearly three decades and touch the lives of thousands of people. In the days since his passing, black mourning ribbons for Ambulance New Brunswick have spread across social media throughout the province — a quiet, unmistakable sign of how much he was respected and the positive effect he had on the entire community.

Bryan was also a proud third-generation Unionist, serving a decade as Vice President of Local 4848 and, most recently, as Treasurer of CUPE 1252. He was known for showing up when it mattered — late nights, long drives, picket lines — and he never once backed down from something he believed in.

The only thing more important to Bryan than the picket line was his son; His camera roll told the story best: photo after photo from their adventures together — camping trips, Finn's first concert, his first Montreal Canadiens game — and plenty more of the everyday, simple moments that mattered just as much.

Bryan also carried a lifelong passion for music. He'd play at family gatherings, in a friend's basement, or strumming around a campfire or hotel room for his CUPE brothers and sisters. But his favourite was right in his own basement, playing and building instruments and writing songs with Finn. To honour that passion, the family has chosen that, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bryan may be made to Sistema New Brunswick, a music education program that gives children in underserved communities free access to instruments, instruction, and ensemble playing.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fergusons Riverview Centre & Fergusons Crematorium, 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview, NB, E1B 1V6 (506-857-
9544), where a Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 26, 2026, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
