Everett Tingley

Obituary of Everett Cecil Tingley

Everett Cecil Tingley passed away peacefully at his home in Turtle Creek, New Brunswick, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 96.

Born on December 29, 1929, Everett was the youngest and last surviving of twelve children born to Leander and Blanche Tingley of Turtle Creek, New Brunswick.

Everett spent many years working in the transportation and logistics industry and retired from Kuehne + Nagel in 1990. He loved his home and took great pleasure in gardening, caring for his trees, and developing beautiful flower beds. He was especially proud of his lawn and spent countless hours maintaining the property surrounding his home.

Above all else, Everett cherished his beloved wife, Brenda, his children, and his extended family. He lived life to the fullest, spending each day doing the things he loved with the people who meant the most to him. He had a passion for travel and often enjoyed impromptu day trips throughout the Maritimes to experience what he fondly called “God’s country.” Everett was always delighted when friends, relatives, and neighbours stopped by for a visit. He loved sharing stories, reminiscing about old times, and preserving cherished memories through the countless photographs and albums he created over the years.

Everett was a devoted member of Lower Coverdale Baptist Church. He and Brenda enjoyed attending Bible studies and hosting numerous church gatherings in their home. The friendships, fellowship, and faith community he found there brought him great joy and fulfillment.

Everett will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Brenda; his children, Jocelyn McMackin (Gary) of Turtle Creek, Kelly Tingley (Derrick) of Riverview, Grant Tingley (Laurie) of Sackville, New Brunswick, AmyJo Allen (Daniel) of Deseronto, Ontario; his stepchildren, Shannon Killam (Danny) of Salisbury and Blair Rushton (Melissa) of Hillsborough, New Brunswick; his 15 grandchildren; and his 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Everett was predeceased by his son, Craig, and his 11 brothers and sisters (brothers, Frank, James, and Guy Tingley; and his sisters, Marion, Theresa, Greta, Helen, Myrtle, Verna, Iva, and Marjorie).

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, neighbours, and caregivers who supported Everett throughout his life and during his final days at home. Special thanks are made to the Extramural Nurses who have supported him over the past months and weeks.
