Obituary of Florence M. Jardine

Florence M. Jardine, in her 100th year, of Mazerolle Special Care, Dieppe, and formerly of Crandall St. Moncton, passed away with her family at her side at Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital, on Monday, February 4, 2013. Born in Montreal PQ, she was the daughter of the late Edwin H. and Edith M. (Marshall) Were. Florence was employed as a hairdresser in her early years and then worked in sales with Zellers in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, she later retired from Kmart as merchandiser and sales clerk of Ladies ware. She attended Wesley Memorial Church. Florence was an amazing seamstress, she enjoyed hooking rugs, smocking, knitting and gardening. She also loved travelling, being with family and friends and going out for drives in the car. A loving and caring mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed by her daughter Bonnie Steeves (Brian) of Moncton; her son Harvey Jardine (Margaret) of Dundas, ON; five loving grandchildren Allan Jardine (Wendy) of Dundas, ON and Jo-Lynn Boyd (Paul) of Millgrove, ON., Troy Steeves (Rebecca) of Lower Coverdale, Tonya Gray (Cory) of Strafford, PEI and Tara Steeves of Moncton; ten adoring great-grandchildren Carly and Jake Jardine, Kodie and Katie-Lynn Boyd, Ava Joy and Morgan Steeves, Connor, Braydon, Carson and Faith Gray; her sister Edith Fraser of Sydney, NS; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ed Jardine in 1981 and by brothers Ted Were and infant brother Clifford Were. Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton, NB with visitation Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. L. Buckingham officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, NB. Donations in Florence's memory made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society would be appreciated by her family.
