Obituary of Arnold Keating

Arnold Keating of Moncton, NB, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, October 8th, 2011. Born July 9th, 1923 in Grosse Ile Madeleine, PQ., He was the son of the late Donald and Clara Matthews. Arnold will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years Stella M. Keating (Best); children Clara G. Nye (Bill Marshal), Arnold R. Keating (Ruth), Patsy G. Maillet (Leo); brothers Gordon and Baxter Matthews; sister Velma Hair; grandchildren Maria Pimentel, Sarah Jones, Adam Maillet, Justin Maillet, Anthony Nye, Heidi Keating and great grandchild Rebecca Johnston. Arnold served in the Navy convoy duty on various ships in North America (1941-1945) and was project manager for ten years in construction. He entered the Federal Government Airports Division on September 13th, 1960 and retired April of 1988 as Regional Manager, Airport operations Atlantic Region. Arnold was an avid golfer and he enjoyed curling and wood working. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 11th 2011 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church on Wednesday October 12th 2011 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officiating. Donations in Arnold's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetic Association, Easter Seals New Brunswick or the NB Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
