Obituary of Dorothy Grace Trites
Dorothy Grace Trites (Greer) of Moncton passed away surrounded by her family at her home on July 17th, 2010. It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved Grace.
Grace was the eldest daughter of the late Harry K. Greer (1976) and Emma (Murray) Greer (1970). She was predeceased by her late husband Edward Trites (2006).
Grace was a very loving person who dedicated herself to helping others, especially the children of The Echo Drive Community Center, whose lives were made brighter with the many parties and celebrations she threw on special holidays, complete with gifts for all. Grace prided herself in making sure holidays were celebrated to the fullest for every child, year after year. She will be greatly missed at the Open Hands Food Bank where her kindness and compassion, along with her leadership skills were greatly appreciated.
Grace's laughter and humor will be missed by the friends she made at the 31 Club, where she spent many happy hours playing darts.
The hallways of the buildings she left sparkling, because she believed in cleanliness, will be darkened with her loss. Grace cherished the time spent with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter Sherry Ann.
Grace was a very special person who will never be forgotten, her memory will live on in the hearts and lives of all those she touched.
Deeply missed by her family and Trevor (Hill). She leaves to mourn her daughters Vicky Waddell (Richard), Charlene Provo (Shane) and Sherry Lynn Mesojednik all of Moncton; grandchildren R.J., Crystal, Pete, and her beloved Sherry Ann; great grandchildren Cameron, Arionna, Bradon, Jadon and Morgan; sisters Betty Greer of North Vancouver, BC and Sharon Poirier of Moncton.
Words are so inadequate to express the gratitude of Grace’s family for the loving care and devotion Charlene so selflessly gave to her mother while in hospital and at home in her final days.
At Grace's request, there will be no viewing, visitation or funeral at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Grace made to the Canadian Cancer society would be appreciated.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home (171 Lutz St, Moncton) 857-8564.
