Obituary of David Victor Kirkpatrick
David Victor Kirkpatrick of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the age of 84 years.
Born in Saint John, NB on July 8, 1923 he was the son of the late James Albert and Mary Ellen (Booker) Kirkpatrick. David was a retired engineer with the Canadian National Railway based out of Moncton with over 30 years service. He was a member of The CNR Pensioners and The Royal Canadian Legion. David was a member of the Navy during WWII participating in Convoy runs across the Atlantic and down the East Coast.
He was an active cottage retiree having spent many seasons with his family and friends at the cottage in Pugwash, NS. Friends there were just like his second family and had many gatherings on different occasions.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his beloved wife Frances (Fox) Kirkpatrick; daughter Linda (Don) Vandenberg of Knoxville Tennessee; son Ian (Cindy) Kirkpatrick of Barrie, Ontario; grandchildren Stephanie Vandenberg, Mitchell, Allison, and Quin-Li Kirkpatrick.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters Eileen Earle; also by brothers Ensley, Lloyd and Robert Kirkpatrick.
A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Friesen officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service.
Interment will be in Upper Hampstead Cemetery, Lower Gagetown, NB.
In David's memory, donations made to The NB Lung Association; The Kidney Foundation or to or The Upper Hampstead Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by his family.
