Obituary of Donald "Don" C. Norton

Don C. Norton, 79, of Lakeview Manor Riverview, passed away at the Moncton Hospital Tuesday, March 13, 2007. Born in Moncton, NB; November 23, 1927, he was the son of the late James and Sadie (Craig) Norton. Don was a retired Supervisor Workman's Compensation with the CNR. He attended St. Paul's United Church Riverview. He was a member of the Coverdale Lodge F. & AM; the CN Pensioners Association, the Y's Men Club in Moncton and St. John's NL. Don was also an active and dedicated member of the Riverview Lions Club, he was also a recipient of Life Membership to Lions International, as well as Lion of the Year and many chairmanship awards. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Kay (Mugridge) Norton, three children, Craig Norton (Sherrill) of Dartmouth, NS; Ken Norton of Riverview and Liz MacLaughlan (Ian) of Riverview, four adoring grandchildren Kenny and Sam Norton and Alex and Kyle MacLaughlan; and by a niece Carol Tanner (Tom) of Nashville, Tennessee. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Norton. Visitation is at the Riverview Funeral Home, Pine Glen Rd. on Thursday, March 15, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Thursday evening, March 15, 2007 at 6:45 pm the members of the Riverview Lions Club will hold a Lions Service at the Riverview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Shawn Redden officiating and Pastor Liz Wall assisting. A reception will follow immediately after the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Don's memory made to Lakeview Manor Salvation Army Home, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family.
