Obituary of Franco Elio Falcone
Franco Elio Falcone, of Moncton, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital on Sunday, April 2, 2006. He suffered a massive stroke and heart attack four days earlier.
Born in 1944 in Domanico, Italy, he was the youngest son of the late Giuseppi and Carolina (Filippelli) Falcone. His family emigrated to Canada in 1948 and settled in Montreal, where he spent the first half of his life. Moving in a westerly direction, he lived in Niagara Falls, London, Winnipeg, Calgary and finally Jasper, Alberta, where he found his soulmate. He made Moncton his home four years ago and was currently employed at the Dairy Queen on Elmwood Drive.
Among his survivors are Mary Ellen Crouse (Best), her daughter Mary Elizabeth, grandsons Sunny and Benjamin, her sister Catherine and her brothers John and Teddy; his three sons Jason, Frankie, and Michael; and one grand daughter; brothers Gino and Benito, sisters (Catherina) Giuseppina, Mary and Adelina; twenty-five nieces and nephews as well as dozens of grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his eldest brother Giovanni (John).
Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be scattered along the Amherst Shore in Nova Scotia as he wished. His funeral mass was held in Montreal on Wednesday and a second celebration will take place in Laval on Monday. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital. A lover of mankind, Mother Nature and all things within the universe, he will be dearly missed.
