Obituary of Dorothy Mildred Swinnard

Dorothy Mildred Swinnard of Riverview,NB passed away at The Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital Sunday August 6, 2006 at the age of 77 years. Born in Edmonston, NB on July 29, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mildred (Chappell) Sacre. She was a retired RN from the Moncton Hospital. She was a member of St. Pauls United Church; Treasurer of The UCW (Edith Coates Unit) within the church; faithful volunteer for over 20 years of The Karing Kitchen; she was an avid bridge player at The Moncton Lions Seniors Club, ladies marathon, and a fun bridge club. Dorothy spent her spare time gardening, reading and knitting. Left with fond memories are her sons Derek (Anne Martell Swinnard) of Gananoque ON, and Wayne (Cindy) Swinnard of Cole Harbour, NS; daughter Melanie Swinnard (Gary Dever) of Dieppe, NB; sister Marilyn (Bob) Kulick of Monte Sereno, California; brothers Bob (Jean) Sacre of Dartmouth, NS, and Laurie Sacre of Madawaska, ME; loving grandchildren Leanne, Adele, Jennifer, Sean (Samara); also by several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Henry "Harry" Swinnard in 1985. Visitation will be held at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd.with visitation on Wednesday August 9, 2006 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Pauls United Church on Thursday August 10, 2006 at 11:00 am with Rev. Shawn Redden officiating. Interment will be in The Dalhousie Anglican Cemetery with her husband. In Lieu of flowers donations made to The Canadian Cancer Society or to NB Lung Association would be appreciated.
