Obituary of David Keith Methven
D. Keith Methven, 76, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, January 6, 2006.
Born in Halifax, NS on September 7, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and May Ella (White) Methven. Keith was employed with Imperial Oil Halifax, Scotia Chev / Olds Halifax, and for 31 years with the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Woolridge Dr. Riverview and was also a member of the St. John the Baptist Mens Club.
Keith was a member of the RCOC Assoc. Halifax, Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Assoc. and the Hobans Heros Square Dance Club and Southern 'A's Square Dance Club.
His Military service includes 1951 - 1981 Regular Force, 1949-1951 Reserve NATO 27CIB GP Germany, 1951-1952 Hailfax, NWHS Whitehorse YT. & Ft. Nelson, BC, Montreal, St. John's, Ottawa, and Moncton.
A loving and caring dad, grand dad and brother, he will be sadly missed by his sons, David and his wife Jennifer Methven of Rothesay, NB & Paul and his wife Suzan Methven of Moncton, two grand daughters, Carla and Heather Methven; two brothers Blair and his wife Leona of Truro, NS, and Garth and his wife Frances of Bedford, NS; and by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife Audrey D. (Davis) Methven in February of 2004.
Keeping with Keith's wishes there is no visitation at the Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. John The Baptist Anglican Church Woolridge Dr. Riverview on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Albert Snelgrove officiating.
Donations in Keith's memory made to St. John the Baptist Anglican Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by his family. Interment will be in Lower Sackville, NS in the Spring.
