Obituary of Lester Louis Howe
Lester Louis Howe of Moncton, NB passed away at the Salvation Army Lakeview Manor, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the age of 91. Born in Miramichi, NB on August 8, 1929 he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Baisley) Howe.
Lester retired from the City of Moncton Public Works Department. With his musical ear, he could pick up most stringed instruments and naturally play them. He enjoyed sitting in the kitchen singing along with his guitar, we can still picture him singing the Hank Snow song, about his hair still curly and his eyes still blue! He was a skilled gardener and enjoyed being outside, he was always helping his neighbor with their lawns and their snow removal. He was an amazing father and he truly did the best with the knowledge he had, he had a kind heart, soft heart for small children, a hard worker and a great man.
Survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Myrna (Weatherbee); daughters, Jan (Jim) Griffin of Moncton, Bernice (George) Bourque of Riverview, Darlene (Gaston) Robert of Moncton; sons, Patrick (Teresa) of Moncton, John (Anne) of Petitcodiac, Rene of Miramichi, Leonard (Carol) of Ontario, Lester of AB, and Vincent (Jackie) AB; sister, Gennieve Savoy of Miramichi also survived by the mother of his children.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, brothers and two infant children.
By personal request there will not be any visitation or funeral service.
Interment will be in Millvale Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in Lester's memory made to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
