Obituary of Jean Pearl G. Reid
Jean P. Reid, 88, of Moncton and formerly of Foundry Place, passed away at Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital, on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. She was born in Moncton on October 17, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mabel M. (MacIntosh) Bulmer.
Jean was a member of Wesley Memorial United Church. Active in the community she was Past President of the Moncton Ladies Dart League, a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the CNR War Vets and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6. Jean enjoyed knitting dish towels for all her family and friends, she was a caregiver and go to person to her neighbors, she loved playing cards, bingo and she cherished her Sunday outings with Lois and George.
A loving and caring mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and friend she will be sadly missed by her daughter Katherine Arsenault (Mike) of Moncton; daughter-in-law Irene Reid of Dieppe; grandchildren Megan (Nicollette) and Meredith, Tanya and Sabrina (David Vaters); great grandchildren Jack, Samuel, Connor and Madelyn; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband John MacMurray Reid in 1995, son John William Reid in 2010, a brother Gordon Bulmer and sisters Ethel Robins and Mildred Torrey.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 10:00am until the time of the funeral.
The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. P. Griffin-Allwood officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton, NB.
Donations in Jean's memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital Foundation "Oncology" or "Palliative Care" or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
