Obituary of Mary "Madge" Alward

Mary "Madge" Alward, 79, of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Born in Elmsville, NB on December 25, 1930; she was the daughter of the late Leon and Gladys Harvey. Madge loved dancing and music, she also enjoyed playing the spoons, accordion and mouth organ. A kind and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend she will be sadly missed by her son Leon Alward of Moncton, her loving grand daughter Dawn Somerville of Riverview and grandsons Andy Cole, Dylan and Darrian Alward; her adoring great grandchildren Brandon Trites and Samantha Cole; three sisters Priscilla Leavitt (Larry), Mae Morrison (Bob) and Frances Taylor (Ernie) all of Ontario; three brothers Leon Harvey Jr. (Connie) of St. Andrews, Elmer Harvey (Brigitte) of Niagara Falls and Rolly Harvey of Ontario; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter Gladys Cole, sister Leona Sprague and a grandson Dale Somerville. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview with visitation on Friday, October 29, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wendell England officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview, NB. Donations in Madge's memory made to Breast Cancer would be appreciated by her family.
