Obituary of Roger Joseph Cormier
Roger J. Cormier, 65, of Lakeville, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, May 21, 2009. Born in Moncton on June 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Eric A. and Rose (Noel) Cormier. He was a retired Truck Driver with Armour Transportation. Roger was an avid card player, he enjoyed TV Bingo and was a loyal Montreal Canadiens Hockey Fan.
A loving father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend, he will be sadly missed by his son Alfred "Al" Cormier (Tammy) of Kirkfield, On; grandchildren Matthew and Noah; step daughter Melissa Hogan (Matthew) of Moncton; his common law wife, Anita Richard; mother-in-law Odile Richard; step son Tony Richard of Moncton; sisters Germaine Gallant (John) of On., Diane Fougere of Shediac, Leona Carter (Gerry) of On., Claudette Martin of Moncton and Theresa Hudson (Wayne) of Oklahoma; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Germaine (Gallant) Cormier, two sisters Corinne and Maria and by his brother Alfred.
Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Monday, May 25, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm.
The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, Lutz St. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 4:00 pm with Father Allison Carroll officiating.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dieppe, NB at a later date.
Donations in Roger’s memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation “Oncology Dept.” would be appreciated by his family.
