Obituary of Jean Gretta Davidson

Jean Gretta Davidson, age 84 years, of McNair Manor Nursing Home in Riverview, passed away at her residence with family by her side on Tuesday December 27, 2005. Born in Moncton on February 15, 1921 she was the daughter of the late John G. and Gretta (Bishop) Chapman. Jean retired from the T. Eaton Co in 1979, working in the Stationary Department and in the Red Basket Shop at Christmas time. She was a member of St. John's United Church, and a member of the Pearl Rebecca Lodge #9 'Past Noble Grand', she enjoyed many sessions watching the Cavalier Theraputic Riding Club and spent many summers at her cottage and wintered in Florida before her illness. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Landry of Cape Brule, NB; son Leonard 'Gordon' Davidson and his wife Mary of Sambro, NS; grandchildren Rob (Lori), Meg (Kristie), Jeannie (Luc), Matthew (Kelly), and Jennifer (Sophie); great grandchidren Alyssa, Eric and Caleb; also by several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Leonard William Davidson in 1991; son John Stewart in 1948; sisters Ruth Manning in 1960, Leona Crossman in 1998; and her brother Edison Chapman in 2000. At her request there will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home. A grave side service will be held at St. Martins in the woods anglican cemetery in the spring. In Jean's memory, donations made to Alzheimer's Society of South East New Brunswick, The Cavalier Riding Club (711 Pine Glen Rd.
