Obituary of John Allen

John Allen of Moncton passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the age of 76 years. Born in Springhill, NS on April 8, 1934. He was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Arsenault) Allen. He was an employee of CO-OP Atlantic on Price St. for many years. He was a member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and served as a peacekeeper during the Korean War. John was an irreplaceable role model to his family. A loving and dedicated husband, father, brother and papa, he will be sadly missed by his wife Myrtle (Prendergast); daughters Bernadette LeBlanc (Gerry), Kim (Chris Jones); sons Paul (Residing in Vancouver), Shawn (Francine); sisters Agnes Chapman; Theresa Kelly ; granddaughters Robyn, Chelsey, Stacey, Jessica, Kaitlyn; great grandson Nathan John. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Tracy in 1965, brothers Fidell, Bernie, Art, Robert, Freddie, Tony; sisters Marg and Kay. In keeping with his personal wishes there will be no public viewing, visitation or funeral service held. A celebration of his life will be held for his family on April 9th, 2011 at his home. Donations in John's memory made to The NB Lung Association, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated by his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
