Obituary of Francois Jesse Frontain
F. Jesse Frontain, of Riverview passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the age of 91.
Born in Cape Saint Marys, NS, Jesse was the son of the late Francois Severin and Marie Levinie (Doucet).
Survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Joan Langille; son, Brian (Karen); brother, Gilbert Frontain of Calgary; grandchildren, Erin Leger (Peter), Erika (Kevin Linegar), Emily (Warren Emmett), and Adam (Britney Sears).
Jesse began his career as a Tool and Die maker at the Halifax Dockyard in the 1950’s and rose to the position of Ship Superintendent. He left the dockyard in the late 1960’s to join his wife at United Maritime Fisherman (UMF) as they moved their head office from Halifax to Moncton. He began as a Sales Manager and moved up to Vice President of Sales. With the closure of UMF in the mid 1980’s, Jesse formed Trico Marketing, a seafood brokerage firm. He travelled the world dealing with clients in the United States, Europe and Japan, forming many long lasting associations and friendships. Jesse was also President and Vice President of the Fisheries Council of Canada. He retired from Trico Marketing in 1997 but continued to work with his former partner, Eugene Landry, for several years dealing with some of his former clients.
Jesse was a naturally talented builder, always working on many projects, including building a cottage for he and Joan on land they purchased near Tatamagouche, NS, where they spent many happy summers. They also purchased a home in Bay Aristocrat Village in Clearwater, Florida where the two of them spent many winters. Jesse loved feeding the ducks that frequented their Florida home where he also reaped the benefits of his beloved grapefruit tree and formed many great friendships, including a special one with Jack and Ada Janes. Jesse and Joan travelled the world taking many cruises and trips abroad. In their younger years the two enjoyed many activities such as square dancing and bowling, and took up golf when they moved to Riverview in 1969.
Jesse had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and was always available to help with any projects or repairs they needed. He always loved hearing about their accomplishments and was very proud of the people they had become.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Rose O'Brien; brothers, Gerald, Gus, Norman, Bernard, and Lewis.
A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Riverview on Monday, August 14th at 11:00am with Father Phil Mulligan officiating.
There will be a reception following the Mass.
Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
Donations in Jesse's memory made to the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
