Obituary of Joan M. Cormier
Joan M. Cormier, 86, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, January 7, 2007. Born in Moncton on June 9, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Cecelia (Cunningham) Davidson.
She attended St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church. Joan was the first graduate of her family in the first graduating class of Moncton High in 1939. She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors, she was a charter member of the Moncton Naturalist Club and a former HAM Radio Operator. A stay at home mom, her greatest joy was the unconditional love for her family and grandchildren. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend she will sadly by her husband of 65 years Henry "Hank" Cormier, her son Claude & his wife Jackie Cormier of Riverview, her daughters Sherry & her husband Lloyd Galbraith, Kerry "Tinkie" Swetnam, Kathy & her husband Ray Soucie, Helen "Honey" & her husband Jim Kelly all of Moncton and Sue and her husband Chris Stratton of Lower Coverdale; her adoring fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers Bert Davidson (Joan) of Saint John and Danny Davidson (Evelyn) of Montreal, also by numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son in law Jim Swetnam and by four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation is at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, Lutz St. Moncton on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard's Church, Botsford St. Moncton on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 11:00 am with Father Allison Carroll officiating.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe, NB.
