Obituary of "Jim" S. James
Jim James, 88, of Royal Court in Riverview, passed away suddenly at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, July 3, 2006.
Born in Longton, England on October 30, 1917 he was the son of the late Thomas and Hannah (Dennis) James.
He was a retired Regional Superintendent of Equipment for Air Traffic Service. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Anglican Church in Riverview. Jim was past president of The Moncton Focus Camera Club, past president of The Moncton and area Amateur Radio Club, a member of Coverdale Lodge #52 F & AM, a former member of Acacia Lodge #49 F & AM, The Moncton Lodge of Perfection Scottish Rite, The Britton Chapter, Rose Croix, Moncton, The NB Sovereign Consistory, The Luxor Shrine Temple, Saint John and The Moncton Shrine Club. He was also a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6. A veteran of World War II, he served overseas for 3 years with The Royal Canadian Army and a additional 3 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force.
He is survived by his son Richard T. and his wife Diana James of Dartmouth, NS; two daughters Marilyn and her husband Charles Hastings of Saint John and Patricia (Jessie) A. James of Fredericton; six grandchildren Gayle, Kimberley, Rochelle, James, Jeffrey, and Andrew; also by several nieces and nephews.
Jim was the last surviving member of his immediate family..
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Clara L. (Blakney) James in July 1991 and by his brothers Dennis, Raymond and Bill James.
Resting at Riverview Funeral Home Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, with visitation on Thursday, July 6, 2006 from 7 to 9pm. On Thursday evening The Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 6 will hold a veterans service at 6:30 pm, followed by the Coverdale Lodge #52 F & AM masonic service at 6:50 pm.
The Funeral Service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 7, 2006 at 10:00 am with Canon Albert Snelgrove officiating.
Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens Donations in Jim's memory made to The NB Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by his Family.
