Obituary of Kathleen Whalen

Kathleen Whalen, age 96 years of Meadow Brook, NB and formerly a resident of Heritage Villa Apartments on Elmwood Drive, Moncton passed away at her daughters residence in Meadow Brook, NB on Wednesday, December 14, 2005. Born August 6th, 1909 in Springhill NS, to the late Pineo Smith McLaughlin and Grace (Quillian) McLaughlin. Kathleen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springhill, NS, but more recently attended the First Moncton United Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Kathleen had many joys in her life, but the most important one was her precious family, which she held close to her heart. Later in her life after 65 years of caring and raising her family she took up her other passion of art. Kathleen loved to produce pieces of art that reflected her love of life. Some of these pieces still hang on the walls in her family's houses. She is survived by her daughter Patricia DuBois (Maurise) of Meadow Brook, NB; grandchildren Janine (Gino) Doucett of Saint John, Dolores (Keith) Parker of Rothesay, Monique DuBois of Dieppe; great grandsons Mathieu and Jason Doucett and Jeremy Parker. Also by several nieces and nephews in Canada and in the United States. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Joseph Earl Whalen in 1959; her sisters Ruby, Myrtle, Pearl, infant sister Mona; her brothers John, Raymond, Bob and infant brother Charles. At Kathleen's request there will be no visitation at the funeral home A Memorial Service will be held at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens Donations in memory of Kathleen made to the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by her family.
