Obituary of Leon Lewis Mowbray
Leon Lewis Mowbray, of Moncton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at The Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Wednesday May 23, 2007, in is 77th year.
Born in Dorchester, NB on June 5, 1930 he was the son of the late William and Gertrude (Sears) Mowbray. He was a member of The Wesley Memorial United Church, and a member of The Knights of Phythius. Leon retired in 1995 from The Moncton City Hospital working in food services for five years. Prior to his retirement he worked for fourteen years with The Canadian Pittsburg Co.
Leon enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as woodworking, needlepoint, painting, spending time with his family, and his precious dog Daisy.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Joyce Elaine Matchett; daughters Marlene and Robert Belliveau of Calgary AB, and Nancy and Mac Mullin of Moncton NB; sons Dale and Kim Mowbray of Riverview, and Greg Mowbray at home; grandchildren Christopher Mowbray, Tricia Felber, Tammy Mullin, Timothy Allain, Tammy Ferguson, David Belliveau, and David Mullin; also by eight great grandchildren Shaylin, Paige, Zachary, Sofie, Sayde, Grace, Cameron, and Valerie.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his step sister Pearl Prosser; brothers Alfred, Walter, John, Patrick, and Bobby.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 10:30 am with Dr. Rev. Phil Griffin-Allwood officiating.
In Leon's memory, donations made to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
A very special thanks to Dr. Thibeault and nurses in the Dialysis Unit and nurses on the 4F section. Your care and compassion will never be forgotten.
