Dear Donna, Wally and families, I have such fond memories of your father. We in the neighbourhood were heartbroken, watching him look after your ill mother, but our hearts went out to him as he was so faithful and such a good father through it all. I loved hearing the stories that you told about his love for animals and his humor and his love of being busy with crafts and gardening! So many great memories!

My deepest condolences to all Doug,s loved ones. No matter how old they get to be when called to their heavenly home it still leaves a hole in your life. I have warm. memories of Doug. He was always smiling and cheerful. One of my fondest was at Lions Club dances. He and Helen had taken a “ballroom dancing” class so when certain songs were played at our dances we cleared the floor and just watched them go! Doug loved life, served his country willingly, and was so kind to people. Heavens gain is our loss.

Uncle Doug will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. I have such sweet memories of his visits to Gram and Gramps in Norton when I was younger. I also remember Mom and Dad taking us to visit him and Helen. He was such a gentle man and always made you feel welcomed. Rest easy Uncle Doug. Donna, Wally and families, sending love and prayers. You are in my thoughts during this difficult time. Colleen

Dear Donna: It is with a heavy heart I send you my heartfelt condolences. There is also a spirit of thankfulness and joy. Sadness because a generation we knew and loved and nurtured us is gone. Your Dad being the last in our group. Joy because your dad lived such a strong, full life, serving his country, being a good husband, father and never stopped giving. What an example. We know he lived with faith which will be a comfort knowing he is resting with your mom and other lived ones. You were truly blessed...Sandy
