Obituary of Melina "Lea" Mary Wilson
Melina "Lea" Wilson, of Memramcook and formerly of Church Court in Moncton, passed away at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at the age of 92 years. Born in Acadiaville, Kent Co. NB she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ursla (Babin) Barrieau. Lea was a homemaker, at the age of fourteen, she was head cook for the Union Hotel in Newcastle and later was employed at Vail's Drycleaners as a presser.
She was a member of St. John's United Church in Moncton.
She is survived by her son with whom she resided Wilfred Knight of Memramcook; two grandsons James Patrick Knight of Memramcook and Robert Lloyd Knight of Brampton, On; a step-daughter Betty Myles (Wesley) of Doaktown, NB; three sisters Mrs. Rose Seeley and Ms. Alma Barrieau both of Moncton and Mrs. Alice Mosher of Stellarton, NS; one brother Oliver Barrieau of Ontario; a special niece Crystal Arsenault; as well as nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her step-mother Julie (Cormier) three husbands, James Patrick Knight, Lou Poirier and Alfred Earl Wilson, a daughter-in-law Barbara Joyce Knight, two sisters Emily Jamieson and Bertha McLearen; six brothers Hillaire Barrieau (WW II 1943 in Cicely), Albert Barrieau, Joseph Barrieau, Edmond Barrieau, Frank Barrieau and Arthur Barrieau.
A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, Lutz St. Moncton on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 10:30 pm with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating.
Interment will be in Miramichi Cemetery at a later date.
