Obituary of Myles D. Murphy
Myles D. Murphy, age 88 years, of The Veterans Health Center in Moncton passed away at his residence on Tuesday, January 17, 2006.
Born in Salisbury, NB on September 1, 1917 he was the son of the late Leo and Rose (Duncan) Murphy.
He was a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, and a member of The Moncton Legion Branch #6.
He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1942 during the second world war and served with the North Shore Regiment in Canada, United Kingdom, and Continental Europe, he returned to civil life in 1945.
Myles was a former employee of The Department of Transportation in Moncton as a stockman.
He will be sadly missed by five children, Linda and her husband David London, Brenda Murphy and Darlene and her husband Andrew MacDonald all of Moncton; sons, Clifford and his wife Irene of Rexton and David and his wife Linda of St. Louis.
Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Gallie in 1977.
Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Friday, January 20, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
The Legion Branch #6 will be holding a prayer service at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:30 PM.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 10:00 am with Father J.B. Mallais officiating.
Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
