Obituary of Nina Lavinia Livingstone

Nina Lavinia Livingstone died at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, August 13th, 2008 at 10:15am surrounded by her family. Nina was born on May 11th, 1917 in Gunningsville (now known as Riverview) to the late Charles and Mabel (Rogers) Wilson. Following graduation from Aberdeen High School (Moncton) our Mother studied nursing at the Moncton Hospital School of Nursing (Class of 1939). Following her graduation, Nina worked for the late Dr. Charles Baxter as his nurse and then stayed at home to raise her children. Nina returned to nursing at the Moncton Hospital in the mid-1960's and retired as Head Nurse of Urology in 1979. Nina was a member of Coverdale United Church, a Life Member of the United Church Women, a Life Member of Fidelity Chapter #36 of the Order of Eastern Star, the Past Matrons Club of Fidelity, The Moncton Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae, the Moncton Hospital Nurses Healthcare Auxiliary, the Retired Nurses Association, and a member of the former Coverdale Women's Institute and the former 39 Club. She is survived by her three children; son Dennis (Christine Telfer) and their three children Mark, Mary Elizabeth, and Margaret; son Darryl (Cindi) and their two children Andrew and Jaclyn (Mark Jeffrey); daughter Donna (Robert Irving) and their three sons Jamie (Tara), Jordan, and Joshua and her great grandchildren Cody and Chase Irving. Nina is also survived by her brother Lester Wilson of Bedford, NS and sister-in-law Marion Wilson of Riverview, NB as well as by many nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Nina was predeceased by her husband Harry (1996); brothers Harold, Wilfred, Gerald, Willis and George; sisters Hilda Symonds and Marjorie Simmons. Resting at the Riverview Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14th, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Order of Eastern Star (Fidelity Chapter #36) will hold a service at the funeral home at 6:45pm on Thursday evening. Funeral service will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 15th, 2008 at 2pm with Rev. Danny Compton officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Nina made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or Coverdale United Church would be appreciated by her family.
