Obituary of Jessie Evelyn "Evie" Richard

Evie Richard, 94, of Moncton passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Born in Glace Bay, NS, later of Antigonish, NS, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence "Flossie" (MacLellan) MacDonald. Evie was survived by her daughters, Linda Richard of Charlottetown, PE, Carol Garland and her husband Keith McCuaig of Moncton, and Claudia Richard of South Korea; son, Roland Richard and his wife Paula of Dawson Settlement; daughter in law, Karla Richard of Alma; grandchildren, Marshall Garland, Leiland Richard, Halle Richard, Patrick McCuaig, Darick Tapp, Darin Tapp, Karen McNeil, Kris Doerksen, and David Little; also, by many cherished great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and siblings, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Roland "Doc" Richard in 2017, sons, David Richard, and John Paul Richard. She had many dear friends over the years, including Marie and Bob Betts, Nancy and Glen Burgess and Jean and Allen Marshall of Bridgedale, and her neighbor and ‘adopted son’, Peter Reese.’ Mom loved and laughed a lot in her lifetime. Nothing was as important to her as the love of family and friends. Her sense of humor never faltered, even in her final days. She felt blessed and fortunate to have a wonderful life full of fun, laughter and, most of all, love. A celebration of a life well lived will be held at Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery.
