Obituary of Susan Jane Saunders

Susan Jane Saunders of Royal Court Parkland Estates, Riverview passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the age of 76 years.

Born in Fredericton, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Millicent (Pugh) Sweet.

Susan made so many life-long friends in her career as an elementary school teacher. Starting in Miramichi and then going on to retire after 33 years from Lawrence Station Elementary School, where she was also the Principal for a number of years. She loved music and had shared that love of music with many children she taught throughout her career. In her spare time, she enjoyed a variety of hobbies like painting, wood carving, quilting and travelling. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Morse (Scott) of Riverview; step-son, Jeff Saunders (Melanie Trecartin) of Harvey Station; sister, Debbie Maston (Richard) of Rusagonis; special niece Julie Stewart (Corey) of Rothesay, along with many other nieces and nephews; granddaughters, Georgia, Zoe, Jenna and Alexis; great grandsons Alex and Spencer. The family would also like to acknowledge her special friends Ferne Noonan & Melanie Mitchell, who were just as close as family.

Besides her parents Ralph and Millicent, she was predeceased by her husband Curtis Saunders in 2012; sister Margaret Sweet and brother, William Sweet.

At Susan's request no public services will be held. A private interment will be held at Brockway Union Cemetery, Brockway, N.B. at a later date.
