Obituary of Bill Hanington
William “Bill” Hanington of Shediac Cape passed away at the Villa Providence, Shediac on January 2, 2024, at the age of 94 years.
Born on the Shediac Rd, he was the son of the late John Moore and Ada Louisa (Adams) Hanington. William worked for over 40 years delivering mail to rural areas. He farmed most of his life and worked as mechanic in the earlier years.
William enjoyed Square Dancing, Clogging, Round Dancing, Line Dancing and Ball Room Dancing with his beloved wife Beatrice.
William is survived by his brother, Allen Hanington with whom he resided at the Villa Providence and his wife Willa of Shediac Cape; sisters, Lillian Hamilton of Shediac Cape and Edith Hanington of Halifax; several nieces and nephews. He was especially close to his brother Allen’s family. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Beatrice (Bateman) Hanington who passed in June 21, 2010; sisters, Doris Wood, Ethel Jones, Margaret Harvey, Mary Rimmer, Florence Hicks, Muriel Jones; brothers-in-law, William Wood, John Harvey, Ralph Rimmer, Ronald Jones, Hugh Hicks, Donald Jones and Robert Hamilton.Funeral service and burial will take place in the Spring at St. Martin’s in The Woods Anglican Church and cemetery, Shediac Cape, NB.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Villa Providence, Shediac N.B for their care.
A funeral service will be held at St. Martins in the Woods Anglican Church, Shediac Cape, NB on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2pm with burial to take place in the church cemetery.
