Obituary of Carol LeBlanc

Carol Anne LeBlanc June 4, 1949 – May 17, 2024

On Friday, May 17, 2024, Carol Anne LeBlanc was welcomed to her heavenly home. After a very brief illness, she kicked down the door to Heaven and arrived in style, with her family and loved ones at her side. We are convinced that Jesus had a big party and giant feast prepared for her arrival.

Carol was a sister, mother, Grandma, Nanny, Nan, and friend to many. She is survived by her older sister Gayle Catherine Gallant (William), mother to Christa Flanagan (Grandchildren Sam and Eden), Tanya Flanagan-Hanshew (Grandchildren, Morgan, Jolene, Jack), Sarah Long (Frederick and Grandchildren Junior, Big’Aiden, Hailey, Sophia, Lil’Ayden, and Jenelle), and Katrina Dunn (Christopher Grandchildren Kara, Norah, and Logan). She was predeceased by her husband Henry Leblanc, Mother Bessie, and Father Alfred.

Born in Toronto in 1949, Carol and her family moved to Point-du-Chene in 1953. Her life at the “the Pointe” cultivated her unwavering love for the sun, sand, and swimming. She passed her love of the beach to her daughters and grandchildren with memorable family moments occurring on Parlee Beach. The visions of Mom in her sun hat and sandals, taking grandchildren by their hand (maybe with some squeals) through sea weed, fill our memories. She loved to swim and the wharf, even jumping off the wharf for a swim into her 70s. She spent most of her life in Point- du-Chene, Moncton, and Riverview, except for a brief period as a young adult, (which she would proudly tell you), where she hitch-hiked across Canada.

Carol’s greatest love was Jesus. She lived her life on a mission to serve Jesus and people. Whether through service at the Moncton Crisis Pregnancy Center, Naomi and Ruth, Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, church missions both locally and internationally, Carol committed her life to helping other people know the love of Jesus and the forgiveness He freely gives. She was bold, a bit brass, but loved to have fun. Her adventurous spirit was evidenced by her weekly card games with her “ladies,” dressing up, Country music dancing, horseback riding, and road-trips with Henry, Gayle and Billy. Carol also found another “sister” in her life journey, life-long best friend Becky Mills Brooks, whom she treasured. She was known to cheer for the wrong team and video record the wrong players at her grandchildren’s sports events, while being fiercely proud of them. Her exuberant wave when saying goodbye will forever be etched in our hearts.

Carol’s life will be celebrated at Journey Church - Allison Campus, 1539 Salisbury Rd.  on Thursday, May 23. Visitation from 2pm – 4pm, followed by a Celebration of her life at 4pm, and Reception at 5. Attendees are encouraged to wear your “Sunday finest” in bright cheery colors, as Carol is having a party with Jesus and wants us to celebrate too!

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Naomi and Ruth (https://www.naomiandruth.ca/donate-today/) in support of Carol’s long-time service and love for this ministry.
