Obituary of Lynda Hicks

Lynda Hicks passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Albert House Hospice on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Born in Halifax, NS Lynda was the daughter of Marlene Stuart and the late Alexander Stuart.

Lynda always had a passion for working with children. She spent many years as a pre school teacher and enjoyed her career as a substitute teacher working within the Anglophone East School District. 

Lynda was like sunshine in human form. She spread joy and positivity everywhere she went. She always had time for her friends and family and went out of her way to make everyone feel special and included. She was the world’s best mother, daughter, wife and sister. 

Lynda is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Hicks; daughter Savannah Hicks (Ben Dunnett) of Moncton; son, Eric Hicks of Gagetown; sister Susan Stuart of Riverview, and mother Marlene Stuart of Riverview; her aunt and uncle Edward and Joan Verge, their families and many cousins of Halifax. 

In keeping with Lynda’s wishes there will be no public services held. A celebration of life will take place at a later date for family and close friends. 

Cremation will take place at Fergusons Crematorium, Riverview.

Donations made to the Albert House Hospice (hospicesenb.ca/donate/) in memory of Lynda would be appreciated.
