Obituary of Robert Neil Donald Goodwin

Robert Neil Donald Goodwin age 54 sadly passed away on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at the Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre.

Born in Scarborough, ON, Robert was the youngest son of the late Ronald and Elizabeth (Amos) Goodwin. He was also predeceased by his brother, Ronald. Robert faced many challenges in his life but through hard work and perseverance, Robert earned his 5th grade black belt becoming Canada’s first wheelchair black belt in Jiu-Jitsu in March of 1993.

Robert enjoyed making others happy and loved a good joke especially if he “got” you! He loved his family and he always told you just how much. He loved singing and really looked forward to Monday and Thursdays at Terry’s because he got to sing with many musicians and became good friends, everyone who met and got to know Robert loved him dearly.

Robert loved to build and create anything with hockey tape which kept him busy for hours with his attention to detail and concentration.

Robert was survived by his older brother, Michael Amos from Nelson, BC; his older sister, Rebecca (Goodwin) Leeworthy (Mark) of Montrose, BC. He adored his nephew, Joshua (Avery and Milo) Leeworthy; his niece, Brittany Leeworthy (Troy, Sophie, and Nate Lawrence) all of BC; Robert is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, everyone who knew Robert loved him.
