Obituary of Graham John McKnight
Graham McKnight of Riverview passed away at his residence on Friday, January 3, 2025 at the age of 69 years. Born in Oakville, Ontario, he was the youngest son of the late Gordon and Laura (Palmer) McKnight.
Graduating with a degree in business from UNB, he spent many years on the road in hardware sales management, first for Stedmans V&S/Tru Serv, then later True Value Hardware and Castle Building Supplies. While his travels often took on him away from home, his greatest love was family (and friends that became family).
He loved hosting, enjoying food and drink together. Christmas was hands down his favourite season, from scheduling time to watch every Christmas movie and compiling his “top 100” Christmas songs to making large batches of his famous nuts & bolts, he had the season down to a science. He spent many a Christmas with the Zwicker clan, delighting his grandkids with the famous “treat box”. We were never sure what he enjoyed more: the chaos the candy created or leaving us for the peace and quiet of home when it was all over. Either way, we have many cherished memories. Christmas will not be the same without him.
For many years, Dad lived around the corner from Kels and it was never clear who was watching out for who. From running errands together to visits with the menagerie of animals that is a staple of Kelsey’s home, they both took comfort in knowing the other was close by.
Graham is survived by his daughters, Kristin Zwicker (Rob) of Darlings Island, NB, Kelsey McKnight (Ian Watters) of Riverview, NB and their mother Jane McKnight (late Bill Trewin); loving partner Susan Booth; sister, Nancy Macgarvie (Paul); brother Paul McKnight (Judy); grandchildren, Elijah (Julia Moore), Jack, Anna (Jack Tait) and Gray Zwicker. Also survived by many close friends and family members, including Barry and Julie Lynds, Ruth and Gilles Guenette, Wade and Jean Short, many nieces, one nephew and countless others.
Honoring Dad’s wishes cremation has taken place and burial to take place in the spring of 2025, alongside his parents in Fredericton. At his request, we will celebrate in the summer when we can gather together to share memories and raise a glass in his honour. Cheers, Dad.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted into the professional care and direction of Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre, 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview, NB, E1B 1V6, (506-857-9544).
