Obituary of Smith, Phyllis Hazel

It is with great sadness to announce that Phyllis Smith passed away August 3, 2021 at the Moncton City Hospital. Phyllis will be greatly missed as a loving wife and best friend of 44 years to Preston M Smith of Riverview; and as a wonderful, loving mother to Lisa Stephenson (Derek) of Swansea, MA; and Daniel Smith (Allison) and her ever precious granddaughter, Hailey Smith of Riverview Phyllis was loved and treasured by her Dad, Thomas R. Steeves of Riverview and her big brothers Thomas E. Steeves (Donna) of Fredericton, Fred Steeves (Bev) of Turtle Creek and her younger sister Kim Taiti (Moni) of Moncton. There are many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who will definitely feel the loss of such a beautiful, loving aunt and great-aunt. Phyllis always remembered everyone of them at Christmas! Pre-deceased by her loving Mom, Louise Jean Steeves. Phyllis worked at Co-op for many years starting her long career on Record Street, then to work at the store on Mapleton until it closed. Thank you to everyone who was there for Phyllis during her long battle with cancer. Phyllis fought hard for 9 years! Lately the Moncton Hospital had been the place of long stays. 4200 – The nurses and doctors on that floor are the best! We thank them profusely for all their help and genuine caring! Shout out to Susan who was there to the end offering love and comfort to the family. As well as Dr. Mukherjee who was there daily offering insight and encouragement. Also, Dr. Daniel Landry, Dr. Maude Landry, and Dr. Pierre O’Brian all were great help in time of need. The compassionate nurses at Extramural were fantastic!
