Obituary of Joan E. Harper
Joan Harper, of Moncton passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
Born in Sunny Brae she was the daughter of the late Alden and Bertha (Dixon) Ferguson. She was especially proud to be a member of the Moncton Hospital Alumni Class of 1961. Joan retired in her early 70's after 50 plus years working as a RN at the Moncton Hospital and Dr. Chesser's office in later years. She was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church. Joan loved to travel with her husband and her family.
She is survived by her daughter Tracy and her husband Lenny Bastarache of Moncton; grandson Kris Bastarache of Moncton; sisters Donna Colpitts of Moncton and Jacqueline and her husband Claude Cormier of Rivervew; also by nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years Allan G. Harper in March of this year and her brother in law Cederic Colpitts in 2008.
A funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Rob Salloum officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Donations in Joan's memory made to the the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
