Obituary of Brian A. MacNeill
It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of Brian A. MacNeill, age 75, of Dieppe, NB; A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Monday, May 04, 2020. He was born in Moncton, and was the son of the late Al and Rita MacNeill.
An avid outdoorsman all his life, he was more at home out in the wilderness than in the middle of city life, and he spent many years as a professional hunting guide, known to his hunting and muzzle-loading friends as "Bear Claw" - a name he wore with pride. He was a proud member of the Buckskinners Muzzleloading Association Ltd.
He was an active huntsman's, fisherman, tradesman's in leatherwork and loved to paint. Most of his numerous paintings were painted from memory - a lot of them being scenes depicting the woodland areas he had seen and loved.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Catherine MacNeill; three sons, Jason (Carole) of Georgetown, ON; David (Tammy) of Dieppe and Troy (Sarah) of Riverview; grandchildren Ashley, Tanisha, Courtney, Alexander, Jayden and Claire; great grandson, Marshall; three sisters, Sandy LeBlanc (Eric), Sheila MacNeill and Theresa MacNeill; one brother Omer MacNeill as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son Shawn MacNeill 2006.
We will be holding a Celebration of Life for Brian on October 3, 2020 at 1 pm. It will be held at the Buckskinners Muzzleloading Club, due to Covid-19 masks will be required attend.
