Obituary of Byron Anthony Roach

Byron Anthony Roach, son of the late Dorothy (McDermott) and David Raymond Roach. Born in Moncton, NB, on February 23, 1946, he passed away surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness on April 10, 2013, at Moncton Hospital. Byron served in the army as a young man and thereafter was employed in various sales and retail positions throughout his lifetime. Byron enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors pursuing fish and game. He was a good friend of Bill W's. Known for his big smile, robust appetite, clever storytelling and willingness to lend a helpful hand, he will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was a member of St. Augustine's Parish Moncton and St. Lawrence O'Toole Roman Catholic Church in Irishtown. Byron is survived by his son Rudolph (Kristina) Roach; daughters Veronica Walker (Dan) and Treska Roach; his sisters Dianna Oberg (Doug), Barbara Delahunt (James) and Linda-Lou Carter ( the late Gary Carter); his former wife Frances (Hanusiak) Roach, grandchildren Cyrilla Roach (Tristan), Gerald and Abigail; great grandchildren Drake, Kole and Nate, as well as nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his niece Stephanie Earl. Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home,171 Lutz St. Moncton with visitation on Friday, April 12, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, corner of Mountain Rd and Dominion Streets, Moncton on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00am with Fr. Laurence Quin-Morris officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Point Saint Patrick Church Cemetery, Chapel Point, NB. It will would be appreciated any donations be directed to the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Ray of Hope Kitchen or to a charity of the donor's choice. The Family would like to express their gratitude to Doctors Peters and Alatishe, to the nursing staff that attended to him, to the staff of Residence Adventure for their care.
