Obituary of Blanche Reid Parker
Blanche Parker passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital and has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour. Born in Humphreys, NB she was the daughter of the late Wesley Reid and Sarah (Goggin) (Reid) Hicks.
Blanche was predeceased by her husband Albert Parker (1971), sisters Lillian, Gretta, Mabel Florentine and brother, Leslie.
She is survived by her son William (Carol) Parker, daughter Elizabeth (Fred) Nichol, all of Riverview, NB. She is also survived by grandchildren Nick (Lori) Nichol of Concord, NH, Tammy (David) Richardson of Hammonds Plains, NS, Tracy (Carsten) Obenaus of Forest City, NB, Susan (Mike) Carson and Christine Parker of Riverview, NB. She was great grandmother to three dear boys, Jacob and Samuel Nichol and Ryan Carson. She was a most wonderful and loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and cats, Toby and Willow, who were never far from her side.
Prior to her marriage, Blanche worked for the JD Creaghan Co. Ltd. In later years she joined the staff of First Moncton Baptist Church where she remained secretary for over twenty-two years and was active on several committees. She was a former member of the Fort Monkton Chapter IODE. Until her passing, she lived a very active life travelling, sewing, cooking, playing bridge with the girls, watching the golf games and working the crossword puzzles each day. She never lost her sense of humour.
Her greatest love was for her family.
Visitation will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Thursday February 16, 2012.
A Memorial Service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 2:00pm with Dr. Richard Jackson officiating. Anyone wishing may donate to the First Moncton Baptist Church or a charity of their choice.
