Obituary of Bessie Mildred Goggin
Bessie Mildred Goggin of Moncton, NB passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Friday January 20, 2006 at the age of 91.
Born in Elgin, NB on October 21, 1914, she was the daughter of the late William W. B. and Annie Bell (Marshall) Steeves.
She was a member of The Moncton Wesleyan Church (former Sunday school teacher) and member of The Golden Age Club.
She was a former member of River Glade Baptist Church and Woman's Missionary Society.
Bessie dedicated her earlier years to raising her children on the family farm.
In later years she was a clerk at Marrs Grocery and retired in 1973.
She is survived by daughters Donna (Kirk) Soucoup and Betty White of Moncton; sons Gordon (Catherine) Goggin of Moncton and Hollie (Marilyn) Goggin of Kitchener, ON; son in law Conrad Chapman of Rothesay. Thirteen grandchildren Marc, Ginette (Brian), Amy, Gordon, Glen Gary, Duane (Tanya), Shawn (Gayle), Betty Dawn, Darlene (Terry), Wendy (Marcel), Twila, Shane, and Heidi. Also by fifteen great grandchildren Ethan, Travis, Colby, Jessica, Nicky, Brandon, Jenna-Mae, Chelsea, Candace 'Hannah', Cynthia, Sadie, Bailey, Maysie, Lacey, and Jeffrey.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter Phyllis; Siblings Muriel, Madge and Frank Steeves, Elsie Horsman and Anna Lewis. Also by husband Vaughn Goggin, special companion Garth Marr, and friend Robert 'Hoppie' Finck.
Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. on Monday January 23, 2006 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
The funeral service will be held at The Moncton Wesleyan Church on Tuesday January 24, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jay Guptil officiating.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.
In Bessie's memory, donations may be made to The Moncton Wesleyan Childrens Ministry or to The Parkinsons Foundation.
