Obituary of Rev. William J. "Bill" Forgrave
Rev. William "Bill" J. Forgrave, 91 , of Riverview, NB passed away at The War Veterans Health Centre on Saturday, August 02, 2014, after a lengthy illness patiently borne. Born in Cedar Camp, NB, he was the son of the late Herbert and Annie (McGarrigle) Forgrave. Bill enjoyed life to the fullest. He served overseas for four years during WWII with the Canadian Corps of Signals and served 22 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He owned and operated Metro Mower Services several years before selling it to pursue the call to become an Anglican Priest. Bill coached minor hockey and was a scout master in Canada and France. He also enjoyed curling and hunting. Survived by wife of 67 years Patricia (Nott) Forgrave; three children Pat Elliott (the late Keith) of Winnipeg, MB., Debra (The Rev. Canon Leo Martin) of Saint John, NB and Jim (Elizabeth) of Brampton, ON. seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and chosen brother Ray Law.
Bill was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister Hazel; two brothers Garnet and Harold.
Visitation will be held at Riverview Funeral Home on ,Tuesday, August 05, 2014 from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm. The Riverview Veterans will be holding a memorial service at 6:30pm to honour Bill.
The Funeral service will be held at St. John The Baptist Anglican Church on Wednesday, August 06, 2014, at 11am with Rev. Brent Hamm officiating. 28 Woolridge St., Riverview, NB.
Interment will be in Cambridge Anglican Church Cemetery.
Donations in Bill's memory made to St. John the Baptist Church Building Fund, or to the charity of donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
A special thanks is extended to all the staff at the Veterans Health Centre for their care and compassion over the last three years to Bill and support to his wife Pat.
