Obituary of Herbert "Herb" V. Elliott
Herbert "Herb" V. Elliott, 68, of Berry Mills, passed away at Drew Nursing Home in Sackville, NB on Monday, June 28, 2010. Born in Apple River, NS, on August 7, 1941, he was the son of the late Herbert and Zenith (Elderkin) Elliott. He was the former manager of Sumner Tire Retread and Automotive, and most recent he worked with Armour Transport for the past 5 years. Herb was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting and boating. He also enjoyed driving stock car in the 1960's, however his greatest love was his family. He was a friend to all.
A a loving and caring husband, father, papa and brother, he will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years Wanda Elliott, one daughter Cheryl Elliott Mills (Steven) of Shediac Cape; one son David Elliott of London ON; a loving papa to Christy and Adam MacKnight, Dalton, Dallas, Catriona Elliott; five sisters Lorna Rector of Advocate Harbour, NS. Carol Armitage of Elliot Lake, ON. Sue Wilson (Conrad) of Hillsborough, Phyllis Nesbitt of Halifax and Elaine Ouellette (Gerald) of Moncton; sister-in-law Shirley Elliott of New Hampshire; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Leonard and by two sisters Marion Fillmore and Zenith Borden.
At Herb's request there will be no viewing at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel 171 Lutz St. Moncton; on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 11:00am with Rev. Steve Berube officiating. Interment will be in Advocate Harbour Cemetery at a later date.
Donations made in Herb's memory to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Drew Nursing Home Memorial Fund would be appreciated by his family.
