Obituary of Lillian Elizabeth Steeves

Lillian Elizabeth Steeves 1917 - 2010, of Riverview, passed away at her residence on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the age 93 years. Born in Bathurst, NB she was the daughter of the late Harry and Leah (Tilbert) Tripp. Lillian had looked after foster children as well as being the matron at the Riverview Home for Girls and matron at the Moncton Police Station. She had also looked after seniors in her home and had worked a variety of bake shops. Lillian loved her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her four daughters Sylvia Beck (John), Betty Stonehouse, Marilyn Steeves all of Riverview and Sandra Steeves of Moncton; three sons Robert "Bob" of Salem Rd., Maurice (Jeannie) of Osborne Corner and Keith of Osborne Corner; one sister Mildred Fraser of Moncton; grandchildren Alger, Beth, Darrell, Marie, Tammy, Kim, Jeffrey, Jamie, Jason and Matthew. great grandchildren Kenneth, Josie, Brittney, Morgan, Kelsey, Katie, Tyler, Corey, Hannah, Allan and Alisa; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth C. Steeves in Oct. 1982 and by brothers Cecil and Robert and sisters Helen, Hilda and Gladys. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 7 to 9pm and on Sunday April 18th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Mark Hunter officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens Donations made to the Memorial of the donor's choice in Lillian's memory would be appreciated.
