Obituary of Willliam C. Dutcher

Willliam (Bill) C. Dutcher,of Shediac Bridge, passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the age of 80 years, following a brief illness. Born in Hardwicke, NB he was the son of the late George and Margaret (Callander) Dutcher. Bill was President of W.C. Dutcher Builders Ltd., and was well known throughout the Moncton area for his 'quality built homes' and 'fine carpentry'. He was a perfectionist, always taking pride in his work, in a life long career as a Carpenter and Building Contractor. His Legacy of excellence in the Building and Construction Industry will be forever remembered. He attended Mount Royal United Church, and was actively involved as a member of many organizations and Lodges in the Moncton Area. He was Past Master of Lodge St. Andrew #16 Rexton F &AM , an affiliate with Zetland Lodge #24 F &AM, Past Patron of Zetland Chapter #26 OES, Past Thrice Pucent Grand Master Valley of Moncton Lodge of Perfection; a member of Britton Chapter of Rose Croix and a member New Brunswick Consistory, York Rite Botsford Chapter; Luxor Temple-Shriners, Moncton Shrine Club, Past President of Shriners Mini-Kar Unit, and the Probus Club of Moncton. He was a Charter Member of Silver Sands Seniors Club of Shediac Cape, and a member of the Square & Round Dancing Club for 25 years. A kind, gentle, caring man, he was admired and respected by all who knew him. He always enjoyed spending time with Family and Friends, however, the most important part of his life was his wife, children, and grandchildren. Bill will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 51 years Shirley (Russell) Dutcher, by daughters Brenda (Scott) Barnes of Moncton, Cheryl (Fred) Bouley of Greenville, Me, Heather Calder of Black's Harbour, NB; son Grant Dutcher of Moncton; grandchildren Jordan, Kristen, Meghan, Lauren, Nathan and Brayden Barnes, Amanda and Jillian Bouley, John and Dena Dutcher , Ashley and Joshua Ross and Lily-Anna Calder; sisters Anna Hilburn of Florida, Norma (Charles) Dickison of Doaktown, NB; brother Keith (Wanda) Dutcher of Florida; sister-in-law Jean Dutcher of Moncton, and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by a sister Elizabeth Dutcher and a brother Bob Dutcher. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home Lutz St. on Thursday, January 19, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A Masonic Service conducted by Lodge St. Andrew # 16 will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Thursday evening at 6:30 PM, followed by an Eastern Star service conducted by Zetland Chapter #26 at 6:45 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at Mount Royal United Church on Friday, January, 20, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Valerie Taylor officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends for a reception in the church hall immediately following the service. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, the IWK Health Care Foundation or to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
